Hi! I’m Linsey, traveling Lifestyle + Wedding photographer based in Southwest Virginia. Growing up in Appalachia, where personal connections are romanticized, I found my passion for storytelling through the lens. As your photographer, my soul focus is to capture your story where love and light meet in a single frame.

The one behind the camera
I always imagined myself somewhere bigger or anywhere but here. Instead, I found myself with a camera around my neck, quickly falling for capturing the love stories of couples in Appalachia. The mountains became my canvas. I no longer desired to be anywhere but here, but instead firmly on the ground where my roots were planted.
Eastern Ray Collective came to be from a love of creating and of love itself. I believe all love deserves to be documented to ensure memories that last a lifetime. What began with friends, family, travel and lifestyle photography has bloomed into this business. It started authentically and it will always end as such

How does payment work?
For weddings, I require a 25% non-refundable retainer to secure your spot on my calendar. The remaining amount is due two weeks prior to your wedding day. You can split the remaining 75% into two payments if necessary to make it more affordable! I am happy to work with your schedule! For all other sessions, I require a 50% non-refundable retainer at the time of booking to secure your date. The remaining balance is due the day of your shoot.

FAQ
What if I need to cancel?
Deposits are non-refundable in regards to any service that I offer. All cancellations, with the exception of the deposit, will be refunded in the event that the
photographer is notified 48 hours in advance. If the photographer is not notified within 48 hours of the session date, no refund will be issued.
How many images will we receive?
I don’t put a number on wedding images because there is no limit to your love. All other session
image quantities are listed. However, this could be subject to change because I don’t believe in
holding back on your special moments!

Where will our session take place?
Together we will work to choose your ideal location. Is there somewhere special to you? Is there a place you have always envisioned having photos taken with the ones you love? I am here to make your dreams come true!
What should we wear?
Once we settle on location, we will move on to clothes in more detail! A few tips: prioritize movement + comfort, stick with solids over patterns, say yes to accessories, but no to smart devices like Apple Watches, always have a backup outfit.

Indoor sessions are available and customizable. Please reach out for more info!
What if the weather is not ideal?
I am very well versed in Virginia weather. I don’t panic over rain as it can create a beautiful element in your story. I use a range of weather apps to keep an eye on the weather a couple of days before your session. There’s no point in checking the forecast earlier than that, as weather patterns seem to shift dramatically across a week. If it’s forecasted to be heavy rain, we can simply reschedule (free of charge). It’s worth holding out though before postponing, as the forecast might well shift a little over the next day or so – if you’re able to keep the space in your diary, I’d suggest doing so. When will we receive our images?
For weddings, you will receive your images within 2 months of your wedding day (with a few sneaks along the way!). All other sessions will be delivered within 2-4 weeks of your session date.
How will we receive our images?
All images are delivered via a free app called Dropbox. In order to receive your images, all you need to do is download the app, create a free account and send me the email you use for your account. It’s that easy!
